Samantha Daniels

My name is Samantha Daniels and I reside in Cape Town, Western Cape.  I am a mother of 3 brave children and I have a genetic eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), which I was diagnosed with at age 4.

I am a self-motivated lady, who enjoys life. I see myself as an outspoken advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. Networking with various organizations, is another interest of mine.

I graduated from the University of the Western Cape with a degree in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education. In 2018 I completed a certificate course at the University of Cape Town, Teaching Learners with Visual Impairment. Previously I have also been involved in the South African Blind Youth Organization Western Cape.

I now have a better understanding of RP, I am ever so determined to make others aware of what to expect during their journey with RP or any other retinal related eye conditions. Through it all, I believe that perseverance is the key to live today for a better tomorrow.
